It should work for the Galaxy Note but I’m not 100% sure. If you are willing to test that would be great.

I tried this on my ATT Galaxy Note with update 0.5.1 but was unsucessful. All I did was run the program with my note connected via usb. Debugging was checked. Not sure if I should be in download mode or not. If I’m missing a step please advise.

You did it right. There is not need to be in download mode. You could try one of the other expolits. I am still working to get the Note working properly.

I’m not 100% sure what your talking about. If are you trying to root your Kindle? If so just open BreakDroid and do steps 1, 2 & 3 in order. Wait for it to fully reboot in between. If you have an option don’t unlock it in between.

In the terminal run the following commands. You must have adb installed for them to work.

      rm /system/xbin/su
      rm /data/local/tmp/*

      Then uninstall the superuser app.

This is pretty general for most devices.

In the terminal run the following commands. You must have adb installed for them to work.

      rm /system/xbin/su
      rm /data/local/tmp/*

      Then uninstall the superuser app.

It sounds like it didn’t work. Did you do the bootloader unlock first?

      • Nick

        April 22, 2012 at 8:03 am

Yes, the bootloader is unlocked. I unlocked it using the galaxy nexus toolkit but didn’t use the tool it to root it.
I got the use someone’s PC for that but now I’m back on my mac.

I presume it’s because I use 4.0.4 I believe most known root methods don’t work on that.

If you get the yellow triangle you should have a custom recovery. Now you can flash any system you want.

Hi, Tried this today on my kindle fire.

First, I tried auto Auto Root process but that failed somewhere.. no error message.. so I had to go back and do step by step.
(Suggestion: Make Auto recovery as option #6 .. so each option # is linked to step #)

It failed on step # 3

    Please enter your choice: 4
    Starting step 3

ERROR: usb_read failed with status e00002ed
FAILED (status read failed (No such file or directory))
    finished. total time: 22.772s

Also between boots, I see Yellow Triangle and I have to break the process and reboot several times with option #7 .. to reboot totally. Can I like reset completely and start over again? How to do that?

Thanks again for making this. I have kindle fire 6.3.1

      May 13, 2012 at 8:00 pm

I am in the process of upgrading several components of the process for the Kindle Fire. I will make the steps match the choice numbers in that update.

The only way to start over is to re-flash the stock amazon .zip in recovery. Did your Kindle finish the process?

Hello, I have a lg. revolution, and recently downloaded your software in want of rooting my 2.3.6 phone. In terminal I picked the 7th option for myself…. the one for most phones….. However this is what I got—–#######################################################################################
    1) Root 3) Donate
    2) READ ME – Important 4) Quit
    Please enter your choice: 1
    * daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
    * daemon started successfully *
    error: device not found
    error: device not found
    error: device not found

I also have usb debugging enabled too! Please help 🙂

Unfortunately most of the Samsung devices require odin to root or flash roms. Which sucks because I now have an S4. I am looking in to what I can provide for the S4 and other devices. Stay tuned.
